SPLICING β΅ ππ€β€οΈ β΅ Normally, two types of splicing are performed: free-eye or with a stainless steel or galvanized thimble. Splicing avoids the use of knots, which reduce loads by up to half. There are no limits on length or color, which can be made at the customer's request. For dock mooring, we recommend using lengths no longer than 10 meters and with eyelets at least 0.8 - 1 meter long. Upon request, free-eye splices can be covered with a protective tubular leather sheath that can be personalized with heat-stamped lettering. APPLICATIONS Wherever there is significant friction and rubbing with harder parts of the rope, the rope must be protected with a thimble. Rekord Cordami has designed an exclusive system for double-sheathed ropes that requires on-site intervention and only when the ropes themselves are being manufactured. If you prefer to use a pre-made rope, simply request the F.16 American sheet, which is specially prepared for easy splicing. Once you're sure of the required measurements (length and diameter), we recommend requesting the exclusive Rekord splicing system, which offers greater guarantees and is performed with special machines for better fastening on ropes from 4 mm to 100 mm.
